This is where the magic happens, and nighttime becomes real! Everything was composited in After Effects. The techniques I utilized included:
Render Layers
-
seperating the character from the background
Drop Shadow
-
using AE's Drop Shadow effect--paired with clipping masks--to add another dimension to the characters
VFX
-
subtle grain
-
smoke/steam from the microwave dinner that Buster has on his coffee table
-
glow effect to emulate the light that the TV would cast upon the environment
