Compositing + Color Corrections + Editing

This is where the magic happens, and nighttime becomes real! Everything was composited in After Effects. The techniques I utilized included:

​

Render Layers

  • seperating the character from the background​

​​

Drop Shadow

  • using AE's Drop Shadow effect--paired with clipping masks--to add another dimension to the characters

​

VFX

  • subtle grain

  • smoke/steam from the microwave dinner that Buster has on his coffee table

  • glow effect to emulate the light that the TV would cast upon the environment
